Please do not confuse my work, or this website, nor compare me directly, with the countless 'sales sites' on the internet, set up by legitimate businesses and 'part-timers' alike, claiming they are 'experts' or offering 'top quality/best value' etc., etc..

In reality they are no more than trumped up market traders, buying in stock from whoever gives them the cheapest deal and making a tidy profit selling to people, quite possibly like yourself, searching for the 'best cue'.

It's a minefield out there and if you do not know what you are looking for, then it is easy to be drawn into the claims of one of those fancy websites. Designed by some computer expert, to do exactly that - draw you in and make you believe their product is better than elsewhere.

Or often misleading you into believing they actually make the cues! With their 'custom design' service, or their 'superior' range of 'best quality' hand made cues. More often than not, these cues are cheap imports, badged up under whatever name they dream up.

Don't get me wrong, there are some legitimate, honest traders out there, but please just be aware that some things are not what they are dressed up to be.

Nobody can deny the importance of 'shopping around'. We all have a budget and you would be foolish not to check as many places as possible, comparing like for like products to get the best price.

But that is exactly the point - be very, very careful that you are comparing the same product...

A good cue is worth it's weight in gold. It will serve you a lifetime, if you so wish, and will help you play the game to the best of your ability.

That 'bargain' cue you bought, or are about to buy, will quickly find it's way to the bin and you'll be back searching for a new one next year...

Remember this proverb:

'All that glisters, is not gold...'

Having said all this, if you're just after a basic cue and want the 'cheapest deal', then e-mail me the product name, where you found it, and I will price match any other branded goods on the market.

If you want a genuine Mike Wooldridge quality product then you will simply have to pay the price because you won't get the same from elsewhere...

I started playing snooker and pool long before I started making cues. Having made countless century breaks myself, I truly know what makes a good cue. I understand the 'feel'.

One day I started 'making' cues. Nobody taught me. I did everything myself. That's right my friends - I taught myself. (And please don't email me asking how I make cues because I won't tell you. You'll have to do what I did - work it out yourself!)

It took years to learn what I know now. I had to 'think outside of the box' and find my own ways of doing things. But I knew what I wanted, and through years of hard work and determination, I have gained respect the World over for making the best cues money can buy.

My cues are made by hand - it is the only way to make a good cue. I am not just a businessman who bought some machines, turned them on, and watched cues fall out the other end!

I was a player first, and then I became a cue maker. No machines, and no amount of money can buy what I know. I make cues because I love making cues. And there is nobody better...

When you deal with me, you will quickly realise that you are dealing with someone who actually knows what they are talking about, and understands what you want.
