Custom Cues

The Ultimate in Cue Craftsmanship

Overview

Without doubt, the finest cues you can buy anywhere in the World and the reason my reputation is second to none.

Made to a customer's exact specification, custom cues are suitable for professionals, serious players, collectors, or just players who do not want to settle for second best.

You do not need to be a great player to appreciate this level of quality. It's simply the ultimate in cue craftsmanship and is for the person who truly appreciates quality and demands the very best that money can buy.

Total satisfaction is guaranteed and numbers are strictly limited due to the great time and effort that goes into each one.

This means the pleasure of owning one will always remain a privilege that few players will ever experience.

Put simply, you will not find better quality anywhere in the World. Be prepared for a wait though, things this good don't come quickly...

And now, create your dream cue and see it 'made' on screen:

VCM designed Custom Cues vs Standard 'Stock' Cues

  • Regardless of whether it is a custom cue order, or a standard cue available from stock, the craftsmanship will be to the highest standards, e.g. nice even splices.
  • They are ALL selected from the SAME professional playing grades of timber.
  • In playing terms, there will be NO difference at all.

So, whether you choose from stock or order a custom cue, you can be safe in the knowledge that you really are getting the BEST quality playing cue regardless.

Shaft Grade

Because ALL shafts come from the same professional playing standard stock, I basically grade my shafts according to appearance.

What I call 'standard' shafts are visually as good, if not better than competitors, but I grade the very finest visual examples as 'deluxe' and generally reserve them for custom cue orders.

Remember, these are not 'better', they are just more 'perfect' visually.

Now, most people are just happy with a good solid 'playing' cue. They are not overly fussed about the shaft grain and are content to accept the patterns as the 'character' of the cue. That's how it should be.

But some people also crave 'perfection' in shaft grain appearance. At least, 'perfection' in their own eyes. However, what they think looks good, someone else may not.

Either way,a VCM designed custom cue will benefit from a specially selected 'deluxe' shaft. So, if you want the 'best of the best', then rest assured that is what you will get.

And if appearances are absolutely crucial to you, then feel free to request a certain grain pattern, e.g. number of arrows on an ash shaft, and I'll do my best to find it.

Price

Trying to find that most 'perfect' looking shaft is very very difficult. Much wood must be sorted and cut to find just one. And even then, when it is turned into a shaft, it might look good, but 'feel' wrong.

So, not only is there a lot of wasted material costs, but an awful lot of time is lost. It's like searching for precious stones...when you find a diamond, it's worth something!

Also, you should appreciate that being able to just get on and make cues is far easier, and less time consuming, than constantly referring to a customers exact sizes or wood specifications.

Therefore, 'deluxe' custom cues command a premium based on time spent and wasted materials.

Time is money, and this is the main reason why a specially ordered custom cue is more expensive than a standard stock cue, NOT that it is actually better made or a better playing cue.
